Google left the Chinese mainland in 2010 over self-censorship issues after the Chinese government had decried that tech companies from outside China will have to impose self-censorship to curtail anti-China results. In fact Google had accused the Chinese government of launching a cyber-attack on it and many other tech companies. Mr Schmidt echoed comments by Google co-founder Sergey Brin, who said last week some services would return to China. The hacker whose handle is Zemnmez, found the flaw on the new website for Mr Robot, the hit USA Network show. Zemnmez said that the vulnerability easily allows him to to pwn fans of the show visiting the website, tricking them into giving over much of their Facebook account details. Zemnmez said that shortly after a quick note to Mr Robot writer Sam Esmail, the vulnerability patched by the administrators....
An unknown hacker hacked Oculus CEO Brendan Iribe’s Twitter account on Wednesday. The hacker then used the hacked Twitter account to promptly announce a new CEO for the Facebook owned virtual reality company. The hacker also changed Iribe’s Twitter bio to read, “im not testing ya security im just havin a laugh.” This is just the latest in a string of tech CEO’s having their Twitter accounts compromised, however this hack doesnt seem to be the work of OurMine which has in the past hacked accounts of Travis Kalanick, Sundar Pichai, Mark Zuckerberg and Dick Costolo....
“Air-gapped” computers are isolated – separated both logically and physically from public networks – ostensibly so that they cannot be hacked over the Internet or within company networks. The LED indicators of the isolated computers are taken control of, which are then forced to blink up to 6,000 times a second to send a signal containing data to a camera mounted on a drone near the targeted computer. “Sensitive information can be encoded and leaked over the LED signals, which can then be received remotely by different kinds of cameras and light sensors,” the team, led by Dr Mordechai Guri, head of R&D at the Cyber Security Research Centre, said in its paper....
