“The current out-of-warranty battery service fee will apply until the end of February 2023. Effective March 1, 2023, the out-of-warranty battery service fee will be increased by $20 for all iPhone models prior to iPhone 14,” reads the Apple Support page for iPhone battery service. According to an estimation calculator on Apple’s website, the Cupertino giant currently charges $69 for a battery replacement on most of the iPhone models such as iPhone 13, iPhone 12, iPhone 11, iPhone X, iPhone SE, and iPhone 8. Also, earlier iPhone models are presently charged $49 for battery replacement service. Starting March 1, 2023, the price will increase from $69 to $89 for iPhone models with Face ID and from $49 to $69 for iPhone models without Face ID. The increase in battery replacement costs will only affect customers who do not have AppleCare or AppleCare+ plan for their devices. However, customers who have the AppleCare+ plan do not have to pay anything for a battery replacement once their battery health has fallen below 80% of its original capacity. Similarly, the iPhone 14 series models too won’t be affected by the price hike, as Apple already charges $99 to replace the battery on these models. Customers can replace their iPhone batteries either by scheduling a visit at an Apple Authorized Service Provider or send it for repair (a courier will pick up your product and deliver it to Apple) or by contacting an Apple Support Advisor. Besides iPhones, Apple is also increasing the cost of out-of-warranty battery replacement for a MacBook. Effective March 1, 2023, the battery replacement cost for MacBook Air increases by $30, while the MacBook Pro and MacBook charge goes up by $50. Similarly, newer ?iPad? models will see a price hike in battery costs by $20. In case, your device’s battery life is in poor health condition, now is the right time to have it replaced before the new prices kick in.
